Annual Seminar Information

cfcc

The Eastern Carolina Firefighters Association Seminar, held each year in October, is sponsored by the Eastern Carolina Firefighters Association and Cape Fear Community College. The Seminar had its beginning in 1991 with seven classes offered that weekend at Fort Fisher. Attendance that weekend was around 110 students. The next couple of seminars were offered at Fort Fisher and at each one the attendance kept increasing to the point where we could no longer use that facility because of the growth. It was decided to move the seminars to the main campus of Cape Fear Community College in downtown Wilmington and the seminar continued to grow through the years. In 2001 the decision to move the seminar to the Topsail High School complex in Hampstead was made to be able to accommodate the increased growth to over 500 students. This location was used until the 2007 seminar which was moved to the new North Campus of Cape Fear Community College with 36 classes and attendance of 665 students.

The 2010 Eastern Carolina Firefighters Association Seminar will be held October 8-10 at the North Campus of Cape Fear Community College and will be using the new Fire Safety Training Center which opened in the summer of 2008. This new $10 million dollar facility will definitely enhance the seminar and add to the student's training opportunities in the future.

All Eastern Carolina Firefighters and Public Safety professionals are encouraged to support the Association by attending the Eastern Carolina Firefighters Association Seminar each year. We hope to see you there!
